Aware of the Louisa May Alcott American Classic “Little Women” for most of my life yet regrettably didn’t read it. Previews of these four immensely close & strong sisters looked like my type of movie.
Really enjoyed all 4 characters and most of the casting (Chris Cooper role a bit odd). A ridiculously clean movie (hence the true PG rating) just seemed to meander for 135 minutes.
The quick flash-backs and flash-forwards was a bit disconcerting for this dinosaur. We are simply watching these teens transition into adult life and their own unique paths. Their love and loyalty was off the charts modeling their uber caring Mom played very well by Lauren Dern.
The lead sister and narrator is the captivating Saoirse Ronan as a independent woman a century ahead of her time. Additionally cast includes Emma Watson, Meryl Streep & Timothee Chalamet.
Nice but out of my mind the minute I left the theater
