"Sacrificed" Chickens, Pig Found on Keansburg Beach

KEANSBURG, NJ - The remains of decapitated chickens and a pig with its throat slit were discovered this week on the beach. The killings may be the result of ritual sacrifice, according to Chief Victor "Buddy" Amato, the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal's chief humane law enforcement officer.
Chief Amato was contacted by Keansburg Police Tuesday, around 4 p.m., about three chickens found on the beach to the right of the fishing pier. Their heads had been removed. "There were at least three (chickens). They were close to the water, so there may have been more that washed away," Amato said.
On Wednesday at 3 p.m., Amato discovered a pig with it's throat slit "just up the dunes" from where the chickens were found. He also discovered nearby a small altar with candles.

“An indescribable feeling comes over you when you are face to face with natures most powerful predator.”
August 4th 2013
We were 7 miles off the coast of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The air was ripe with the scent of the sea and only a few clouds hung over head. The ocean waters were still as shadows and the breeze blew gently over the seven of us aboard The Long Shot. Our rugged blonde haired Captain stood in front of the steering wheel with a look of frustration beating from his sun burned face. The rest of us stood out on the deck, each manning gigantic fishing rods set up on all sides of the boat. We had been waiting three long hours surrounded by a stream of fish chum with not even a single bite. My best friend James ran his hand through his bushy brown beard.

Barnabas Health Presents “A Night of Playing It Safe” at RBR Matthew J. Morahan III Center Offers Free Cardiac and Concussion Baseline Screening to School Community
LITTLE SILVER, NJ - “We may not be able to change what happened in the past, but we can come together to try to change what might happen in the future,” Superintendent Dr. Jim Stefankiewicz told an assembled crowd of Red Bank Regional (RBR) students and their parents during a special presentation by Barnabas Health entitled “A Night of Playing It Safe.” The program discussed Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) caused by heart-related issues as well as concussions which affect nearly two million people a year including many young athletes on the playing field.
Dr. Stefankiewicz explained that Barnabas Health through their Matthew J. Morahan III Memorial Health Assessment Center for Athletes (The Center) approached the school to present this program as a preview to providing free cardiac screenings including EKGs and baseline concussion testing for all RBR students. Prior to the presentation, parents and students registered for the free screenings, which took place over four days in August. RBR was contacted by Barnabas since the school suffered the horrific loss of two students last year—Albert Martin and Riyadh’na Farrow--due to cardiac related issues.
