Shrewsbury, NJ - On Saturday, June 27, the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library, located at 1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury, will be presenting the film “Shadows” at 1:30pm. Tackling the subject of bullying, “Shadows” was produced by the Cinematique School in Eatontown, in association with the Performance with Passion Players. The brainchild of Cathy Jenkins (Wanamassa), Debby Schwartz (Tinton Falls) and Rafe Serebreny (West Long Branch), the film utilized students from Cinematique, as well as local actors.

Middletown, NJ – Boy Scouts of America Troop 32’s leadership, scouts, friends, and family gathered earlier this month to honor newly appointed Eagle Scouts Matthew Grippo, Daniel McKeever, and Alex Walker. The Eagle Court of Honor, held at the Middletown United Methodist Church, here, celebrated the accomplishments of these young men in achieving Scouting’s highest honor.

Van Anda book, "Legendary Locals of Rumson" launch and signing
RUMSON – Local historian and author Roberta H. Van Anda officially launches her new book, Legendary Locals of Rumson Wednesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. at the Junior League of Monmouth County Headquarters, 55 Center St (at the corner of Center Street in Ridge Road, just west of the intersection of Ridge Road and Center Street in Rumson).
The presentation by Van Anda is part of the Historically Speaking Lecture Series sponsored by the Monmouth County Historical Association. Van Anda’s book tells a fascinating story in pictures as it contains more than 160 vintage images, many of them never before published.
Middletown Dedicates Anniversary Plaza June 19 at 9 am

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown 350 Committee will hold a dedication ceremony at Anniversary Plaza on Friday, June 19th at 9am. The plaza, which marks the spot where a time capsule was buried in celebration of the township’s founding in 1664, is located at Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street.
The capsule was buried after the Middletown 350 parade on June 21, 2014 and is scheduled to be opened in 2064. The plaza includes engraved bricks donated by local families and well-wishers, benches and a commemorative plaque.
