Middletown Man Identified as Pedestrian in Fatal Accident

Middletown – On April 6, 2021 at approximately 7:53p.m., the Middletown Twp. Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that was struck. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes at the intersection of State Route 35 and Navesink River Road. The pedestrian, identified as William McAvoy, 62, of Middletown, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Monmouth County has 291 additional positive cases of COVID-19

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, April 7, there are 291 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are two new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.
Little Free Library Opens at Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS - More than two dozen residents turned out Tuesday morning for the installation of the first Little Free Library kit installed at the Municipal Yacht Harbor.
Former Mayor Randi LeGrice, who is vice president of the Friends of the Atlantic Highlands Library spoke during the dedication and explained the program, part of the Friend’s celebration of National Library Week.
AH Considers Parking Along Ocean Boulevard

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – The Atlantic Highlands Mayor and Council will hold a workshop meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, to entertain discussion on the milling and paving of Ocean Blvd.
The workshop will be the first item on the agenda for the borough’s regular meeting scheduled for that evening..
Cost of the milling and paving is estimated to be more than $100,000, the cost of which will be borne by Monmouth County, not the borough taxpayers.
