ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden and Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone presented the key of a new Rapid Response Mass Casualty Vehicle to the Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad on October 12. The vehicle, a Ford F550 utility truck, will be stationed in Atlantic Highlands and comes fully equipped with first aid supplies which include oxygen, bandages, back boards and neck braces, among other items.

Mid-November opening slated

HIGHLANDS, NJ – The 1.25 mile trail section between the Atlantic Highlands Marina and the Highlands border at Popamora Point is expected to reopen by mid-November.
“The County Park System along with the Borough’s of Atlantic Highlands and Highlands are determined to get this section of the Henry Hudson Trail totally cleaned-up and reopened,” Freeholder Lillian G. Burry liaison to the Park System said. “The short term goal is to get the trail open and usable.”

A Future with Hope, a leader in New Jersey’s long term recovery efforts, will be hosting a week of special volunteer opportunities, services and interview opportunities from October 27-November 2, 2013.
OCEAN, NJ – More than 150 volunteers are scheduled to participate in A Future with Hope’s “Hope Week” from October 27 – November 2, 2013. The week will include work sites in Atlantic, Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Volunteers from all corners of New Jersey will be participating in the event. Reporters and photographers are invited to visit a work site and speak with staff and volunteers.
“Hope Week” will conclude with A Service of Hope and Remembrance on November 2nd at 9am at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, NJ. The service will feature testimonies from volunteers and homeowners severely affected by the storm and will welcome distinguish guests such as local mayors, councilmen, and state senators. New Jersey Area Resident Bishop John Schol will lead the service.

Atlantic Highlands, NJ - The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council is accepting entries for a juried exhibition running Saturday, November 9 through Friday December 13 in the Arts Council Gallery, Finelines Building, 21 W. Lincoln Ave. in Atlantic Highlands.
Guest jurors Sarah Potter of the Parlor Gallery in Asbury Park and Tony Rodriquez of Tattoo Tony's Under My Skin will select the best work in the lowbrow tradition - art inspired by pop surrealism, street, underground, surf and skate, graffiti, car art and other non-traditional work.

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Police Departments, Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services of Atlantic Highlands, Highlands and Middletown, the United States Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook and Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church, invite you to the Tenth Annual Blue Mass at Saint Agnes Church in Atlantic Highlands on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at 7:30PM.
The Mass will celebrate the service of the police, fire and emergency medical services of Atlantic Highlands, Highlands and Middletown as well as the United States Coast Guard and the United States Park Rangers at Sandy Hook.
All faiths and denominations are welcome to join us in this celebration of public service and a reception at the Shore Casino afterward.
