New School Will Be First New SDA Facility in Keansburg
TRENTON, NJ – As the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) strives to deliver an efficient, responsible school construction program, the Christie Administration today announced the start of the design phase of the Design-Build project to build a new Caruso Elementary School in Keansburg.
“This is an exciting day for the Keansburg community, as we move towards a new Caruso Elementary School that will provide a quality educational environment for generations of students,” said SDA CEO Charles B. McKenna.
“Upon its completion, the new Caruso Elementary School will bolster our efforts to create a relevant and meaningful learning environment that promotes high academic expectations for our students and teachers,” said Keansburg Superintendent Gerald North.

Projects Will Improve Safety and Revitalize Local Economies Following Superstorm Sandy
Trenton, NJ – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the start of a multi-year, multi-million dollar State Channel Dredging Program that will begin to return New Jersey’s waterways affected by Superstorm Sandy to a state of good repair.
“Our state channels are vital waterways that are used by recreational boaters and commercial fisherman,” NJDOT Commissioner James S. Simpson said. “Providing safe navigation channels will have a positive economic impact on small businesses such as marinas, bait and tackle shops, and charter companies, as well as New Jersey’s seafood industry.”

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ (March 12, 2014) – The 2013-2014 Visiting Writers Series continues with a reading by President Obama’s inaugural poet Richard Blancoon Tuesday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m. in Pollak Theatre on Monmouth University’s campus. In 2013, Blanco was chosen to serve as the fifth inaugural poet of the United States, following in the footsteps as such great writers as Robert Frost and Maya Angelou. Blanco performed One Today, an original poem he wrote for the occasion, becoming the youngest, first Latino, immigrant and openly gay writer to hold the honor.
