FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, March 17, there are 373 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are three new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

HIGHLANDS - For six decades, the Twin Lights Historical Society thrived where other organizations sometimes struggled, drawing a steady stream of visitors with the spectacular panoramic vista from its two towers, as well as a superb small museum and eclectic museum store. When the Covid-19 pandemic began in 2020 and the state ordered the lighthouse to shut its doors, the Society found itself adrift, with no obvious way to remain relevant and engage new visitors.

TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC), a no-cost, confidential “business-first” resource housed within the New Jersey Department of State, is hosting a series of free webinars titled “Resources for Recovery & Growth.” The webcasts, which began on February 22 and run through April 20, provide an update on available tools and programs to help businesses through recovery from disruptions caused by COVID-19.
The NJBAC is partnering with local chambers, community organizations and associations to reach business owners across the state.

I was recently engaged to do a presentation for the Daughters of the American Revolution. The talk was bout a tragic shipwreck off Asbury Park, November 13, 1854. Hundreds of German immigrants, seeking a better life were killed in the frigid waters. The New York Times had expansive coverage of the tragedy.
