Bob Yellen Shoots Rock Stars
- Details
- Category: Arts & Culture
Bob Yellen shoots local musicians, and they love it. He started taking pictures of musicians two years ago when he started dating the country singer Elaine Orzechowski, his now-girlfriend. Bob is a professional photographer who works for CBS Outdoors and LORS studio, but once he started going to Elaine’s concerts, he fell in love with the exuberance and excitement of people making music, and couldn’t help but take pictures.
Gradually the idea of having a show of these pictures took hold. He approached Espresso Joe’s in Keyport, they were receptive to the idea, and a show was borne. Twenty of these photographs will be on view at the coffee house from November 4th until the end of the month. Many of them are of musicians who have played at Espresso Joe’s.
The opening will be Thursday, November 7th, from 4:00 - 7:30 pm. Espresso Joe's is at 50 West Front St, Keyport, NJ 07735, 732-203-9499. It’s free and you’re invited. It’ll be so much fun, with musicians a-playing, good food, and great company. If you’re into the regional music scene, this show is a must-see.

Middletown, NJ – Students at the non-profit German School of Monmouth County (www.germanschoolmc.org) presented a $600.00 check to The Sandy Ground Project – Where Angels Play and Hope for Highlands during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Daniel Barden playground on October 27, 2013 in Veteran’s Park, Highlands, NJ.
“Although our families and staff were affected personally by Superstorm Sandy, there were so many families who have lost more. Usually our kids sell Advent Calendars to help us purchase library materials, but we decided to give the proceeds to Highlands who needed it far more,” says Principal Michaela Greco, who resides in Atlantic Highlands. “When we spoke to Hope for Highlands, they told us about the Where Angels Play playground and that perfect fits our mission to have our students commit random acts of kindness and share what they have with others.”

ASBURY PARK, NJ — In the cold and unforgiving winter of 1995, a faculty member at what was then Monmouth College greeted a roomful of adventurous attendees, and invited them to share in the first baby-step moments of an ambitious experiment; an endeavor that would deliver quality professional theater, to a Jersey Shore community that was accustomed to a diet of earnestly rendered — but amateur — stagings of tried-and-true chestnuts.
