Probation Officer Sentenced to 10 Years For Sex Assault of Probationer

FREEHOLD – A former Monmouth County probation officer was sentenced to 10 years in a New Jersey state prison this afternoon for sexually assaulting a woman he supervised on Drug Court probation and making false representations to the Court, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Henry C. Cirignano, 48, of Wall Township, an 18-year veteran of the New Jersey State Probation Department in the Vicinage of Monmouth, was sentenced to 10 years in a New Jersey state prison by Ocean County Presiding Criminal Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels in Toms River. As part of this sentence, Cirignano must serve 6 years, 9 months and 20 days before becoming eligible for any release on parole. He will also be subject to parole supervision for life, required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, and faces a lifetime ban on public employment in the State of New Jersey, as well as forfeiture of his benefits.

Monmouth County has 526 additional positive cases of COVID-19

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, Jan. 14, there are 526 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are 13 new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.

The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

Encounters with Injustice

My first discussion about injustice took place when I started the first grade. My family lived in Yugoslavia, where the Communist Party had been in control for more than 10 years. Great changes happened in our country after World War II, especially in politics, economics, religion, and education. The Communist Party was the only political affiliation; land was taken from the peasants and it became the possession of the state; religion was ridiculed, and religious people were persecuted and jailed; and the educational system was a means for developing a communist society. My parents became members of the local Baptist church when I was in kindergarten. In September 1957, my father walked me to school on my first day of first grade. He explained to me that, due to the fact that he and my mother had become Christians, I would encounter difficulties in school. He concluded in a very trinitarian fashion by telling me that nevertheless, God made me very smart, I could excel in my education, and if I ever needed him to come to school, he would be there. This was the start of my eight years of education in the communist system.

New Suggested "Shutdowns" in 2021

An Open Letter to the People of Atlantic Highlands:

The year 2020 will forever be tarnished with asterisks of a global pandemic, national political concerns, and personal impacts of economic "shutdowns."

In the upcoming year of 2021, as we all seek better days ahead, I would like to propose a new type of "shut down." One that does not need to be implemented from a top down, but merely by each individual citizen.

My letter to each one of you is below, join me in spreading the news about a new Shut Down of 2021.
